Abstract

Background: infantile hemangiomas are the most frequent benign vascular tumors in childhood, their most common location being the head and neck, representing 50 % of the masses that affect the parotid gland. Due to the rapid expansive growth of these lesions, significant complications can appear, such as loss of organ function or permanent disfigurement, so early therapeutic intervention is of great importance to minimize these undesirable effects. Case report: We present two cases of patients with parotid hemangioma treated with propranolol, with very favorable results and few or no adverse reactions. Conclusions: Currently, oral propranolol is considered the drug of first choice for treating parotid hemangiomas, showing a good safety profile and excellent efficacy.
