Autors

• In the letter of submission of the manuscript authors must specify the contribution of each of the authors, guaranteeing that they meet the authorship criteria.
• Authors must declare, at the time of submission, that the manuscript is original, has not previously been published in print or electronic format, and is not in the process of being reviewed in another journal concurrently, nor will it be submitted to any print or digital media including the Internet, before the editorial decision is made.
• Authors must indicate if the work has been previously presented in book, paper or poster format.
• Authors must acknowledge the authorship of their own works and those of other authors, strictly following the instructions to authors on correct citatio.
• Authors must declare that they have followed national and international ethical guidelines.
• Authors must specify that research with human beings or animals has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee and that informed consent or assent has been obtained.
• Authors must attach a copy of the letter of approval from the Research Ethics Committee when submitting the manuscript.
• Authors must declare conflicts of interest that could bias or suggest possible bias in their work.
• Authors must declare the responsibility of the author or authors on the views expressed.
• Authors have the right to expressly and spontaneously withdraw all or part of the content of their manuscript(s) at any time. The communication in which the withdrawal is made must be sufficiently explicit.
• No changes or author additions will be accepted after submission of the manuscript.
• No textual, graphic or tabular information will be published that may affect the confidentiality of data processing and the integrity of individuals, institutions or communities.

Authorship Policy:

In accordance with guidelines from organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Journal considers that an individual's participation as an author in a work results from their significant contribution to the scientific aspects of the same. In this regard, for a person to be included as an author in a manuscript, they must fulfill the following four requirements (all):

1. Have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work; or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work.
2. Have participated in the drafting of the manuscript or its critical revision in terms of its significant intellectual content.
3. Have approved the final version to be published.
4. Have the ability to be accountable for all aspects of the manuscript in order to ensure that issues related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are adequately investigated and resolved.

It is the collective responsibility of the authors, and not of the Journal, to determine that the manuscript includes all and only the individuals who meet the four requirements. The Journal disclaims any responsibility for potential conflicts arising from the authorship of the published works. However, for the sake of editorial efficiency, the Journal will correspond with a single individual explicitly designated by the authors.

Reviewers

• Reviewers must ensure the confidentiality of the information received during the review of the manuscripts, avoiding individual or public comment on the content of the manuscript, not using it for personal or academic purposes, and removing the evaluations after they have been submitted.
• Reviewers must identify and declare any conflicts of interest that may positively or negatively affect the evaluation of the work, refraining from participating in the review process.
• Reviewers must inform publishers if they suspect misconduct by the authors.
• Reviewers must express value judgments respectfully, in an objective and supportive manner, ensuring the quality of the work.
• Reviewers must follow the criteria set out in the review form and ensure timely delivery of feedback, so as not to affect the editorial process.

Editorial team and committee

• The editorial team and committee must ensure the ethics and confidentiality of the information provided to them during the editorial process.
• They must keep the content of the manuscripts, the editorial process and the final destination of the works confidential, except to the authors about their own manuscripts.
• They must ensure that the names and e-mail addresses entered on the manuscript submission platform are exclusively used for the declared purposes.
• They must ensure that the authors remain anonymous from the Editorial Committee during the editorial process from the reception of the manuscript until the final decision.
• They must ensure that the peer review is triple blind.
• The editorial team and committee will be alert to potential conflicts of interest that may affect the ability of peers or reviewers, or that may disqualify them from reviewing a particular manuscript.
• The committee, the editorial team and the reviewers formally declare themselves unable to use the information obtained in their work with manuscripts for private or personal purposes.
• They must ensure timely, clear and respectful responses to authors, readers, Editorial Committee members or reviewers who make complaints, claims or clarifications in writing.
• The editorial team and committee refrain from publishing their own articles in the Revista.
• They must substantiate the editorial decisions on the articles evaluated (accept, reject or request modifications), and present a report, which is endorsed by the Editorial Committee.
• The editor, based on the principle of good faith, accepts authors' statements about intellectual property, ethical statements, sources of funding and declarations of conflict of interest as valid.
• They should endeavour to ensure an efficient process of evaluation, revision and editorial decision-making, in line with the available resources, in order to facilitate the process of disseminating the work.
• They must ensure that, from the beginning of the review, the selection of anonymous reviewers and the final decision, the editorial process only takes into account the quality, originality, relevance and advancement of pediatric knowledge and practice of the manuscripts.
• They must ensure that published articles meet all relevant ethical and quality standards.
• They must guarantee that authors from the Sociedad de Pediatría and external authors are on an equal footing in the evaluation of their manuscripts during the editorial process, which only takes into account the quality, originality, relevance and advancement in pediatric knowledge and practice of the manuscripts.
• They must guarantee that the Editorial Committee and team have full authority in the editorial decisions of selection, evaluation, and publication of the manuscripts, considering only the quality, originality, relevance, and advancement of pediatric knowledge and practice of the manuscripts, without interference from the funders and promoters (Sociedad de Pediatría).
• They must guarantee that the Editorial Committee and team are free to express critical views responsibly, without fear of reprisal even if they differ from the funders and promoters (Sociedad de Pediatría).
• Manuscripts with inconclusive or statistically non-significant findings will not be excluded for consideration for publication, if the reviewers and Editorial Committee believe that they can contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
• The Editorial Committee will be alert to the occurrence of causes for withdrawal of articles, consisting of misconduct that include fraud, deception and injury to copyright.

The Revista Pediatría is committed to publishing original articles and fighting plagiarism in scientific publications.
